Bariloche

Its extraordinary landscape beauty dazzled the first expeditionaries and inhabitants, later, European immigrants found great similarity with their native land, choosing this area as a place of permanent residence. Its geographical situation, in the west of Neuquen and Northwest of Rio Negro, 750,000 hectares, of which 330,000 belong to the National Reserve. Bariloche enjoys music with high level musical and choral concerts and the presentations of the Camerata Bariloche. The traditional National Snow Festival, the Torch Drop from Cerro Catedral, Coral Christmas, the Festival of European and Latin American European Collectivities give Bariloche a tourist attraction more than the already known natural beauties that contain their surroundings.

Route: about 65 km. - Daily Departures

The trip starts from Bariloche along Bustillo Avenue bordering Lake Nahuel Huapi. At the height of km. 8 is Playa Bonita, appreciating from there the island Huemul, 10 km. Later, after crossing different landscapes, you will arrive at the foot of Cerro Campanario.

From the base part a lift that ascends its visitors to 1500 m.s.n.m. At the top there is a confectionery and on it rises a terrace that allows to admire one of the most complete and beautiful views of all the surroundings: Nahuel Huapi lakes, and Perito Moreno. Laguna El Trebol. Peninsula Llao Llao and San Pedro, Victoria Island. Cerros Otto, Lopez, Goye and Cathedral and the city of San Carlos de Bariloche. Then returning to the Llao Llao Villa, where is the San Eduardo Chapel, a jewel of regional architecture and the magnificent Llao Llao Hotel, a true symbol of the place and work of the great architect Alejandro Bustillo, which was inaugurated in the Year 1939. On the lake you can see the important and picturesque Puerto Pañuelo.

After bordering the Escondido Lake, the road passes over the bridge of the Angostura stream, joining the Moreno Lakes with the Nahuel Huapi. Passing through Lopez Bay, at the foot of the homonymous hill, we reach Panoramic Point in the km. 40 to 945 m.s.n.m. Where you can appreciate the majesty of the landscape that make up Lake Moreno and the Llao Llao peninsula.

Bordering the Lake Moreno you will arrive at the bridge that allows to cross this lake to soon cross the bank of the lagoon the Trébol and in the km. 45 join the initial route and return to Bariloche.

CATHEDRAL HILL

Duration: 13:00 pm to 17:00 pm - Half Day (approximately 4 hours)

Departing from the city on Bustillo Avenue, to km. 8, a detour of 11 km. Will allow to arrive to this center that counts on the most important panoramic of this zone. The visit of this important international ski center is another of the traditional attractions of Bariloche, especially during the winter season, although it remains open all year for your visit.

It offers a wide and varied service infrastructure to practice all types of skiing and other winter sports. Hospitality, gastronomy and variety of locals satisfy the tastes and needs of skiers and tourists who arrive every year.

To climb Cerro Catedral there are some alternatives for pedestrians. At the end of these means of elevation we will find confectioners and restaurants where energy can be replenished. Every year the National Snow Festival is celebrated with the fireworks of the Cathedral and the descent of torches trap and excite those who come from different parts of the country and the world to live the magic of this Hill.

San Martin de los Andes

San Martín de los Andes is located in the Southwest of the province of Neuquén. It is soothes of the Intendance of the National Park Lanín (383.612 has.). It is located at 640 m.s.m., distant 45 km. Of the border with the Republic of Chile and to 1575 km. from Buenos Aires. It currently has 23,354 inhabitants (according to provisional census 2001). It was founded on February 4, 1898, on territory belonging to the Mapuche community Curruhuinca. Today, over a hundred years old, they continue to preserve their traditional mountain village, where their inhabitants have collaborated to achieve a balance between the development, especially its architecture and the natural environment, using characteristic materials such as stone and wood essential for the Image of this scene of fairy tales and elves.
